ZigZagging is a personal selection and DJ mix by Opolopo of his favourite tracks from the Z Records catalogue.
“I was both honored and humbled to be asked to curate a compilation as well as do a DJ mix for Z Records. As I dug into the archives I was struck by just how consistent Z has been throughout the years. I had no master plan other than to pick the stuff that grabbed me. Boiling down my shortlist of some 100+ tracks to only 35 was tough to say the least. A lot of excellent and classic tracks didn’t make it. Some because of licensing reasons, others because I just had to draw a line somewhere. I had a ton of fun putting the DJ mix together. A lot of a cappellas, custom edits and tweaks were used to create a coherent but zigzagging journey through the diverse ZR universe.”
The album includes two exclusive Opolopo tracks, a new refix of ‘Staying Power’ by the The Reflex and a new remix of ‘Sustain’ by Opolopo himself.
